Lorri Neilsen is the author of Knowing her Place (1998) which won NCTE's Meade award for outstanding research in the English/language arts. She is co-editor of The Art of Writing Inquiry (2001), a collection of exemplary arts-informed work, or 'scholartistry.' She is currently working on a collection of essays about the research enterprise entitled Lyric Inquiry, co-editing a second collection (with A. Cole and J.G. Knowles), working on her poetry, and continuing her research on the role of writing in women's lives. Her most recent poetry appears in A Room of One's Own.
