These images are from a work still in process exploring issues of mothering, disability, identity, and loss and connection. The art pieces, entitled Extraordinary Bodies, are a collection of distorted and absurd body images/shapes constructed primarily out of recycled sweaters and hand knit fragments intended as an inquiry into the social construction of disability and my experiences mothering a child born with multiple disabilities.
