Welcome to our 2nd issue of 2002!

In reflecting upon ‘ways of being in research’ we are not defining what research is. Rather, I think we are disclosing who we are as researchers, with our preoccupations, our values, and always our stories. Research is action. In many cases, research is hope. Writing it is our speaking to Other/s. I am reminded by Hannah Arendt of the relationships and consequences surrounding Researcher-in-the-World.

“The disclosure of the ‘who’ through speech, and the setting of a new beginning through action, always fall into an already existing web where their immediate consequences can be felt.”
