The Clock in my Cupboard

Written by Lauren Maggio
Illustrated by Burnadett Vary

There’s a clock in my cupboard

No

Not a tick tock clock

Just an old tick clock

Because you see

It ticks and ticks and no matter what

Never seems to tock.

Somedays

I look at this clock

That doesn’t want to tock

With its big white face and red red hands.

Sometimes

I talk to my clock:

“Tock, tock, tock?” I ask.

“Tick, tick, tick,” it answers.

“Tock, Tock?” I question.

“Tick, tick,” it insists.

“Tock?” I inquire.

“Tick,” it concludes.

But today

When I went to my cupboard

And looked at the clock

With its big wihite face and red red hands

There was no sound.

Not a tock

Not even a tick!

Nothing

Now who am I to talk to?
