My Dreams are Paper Cranes

Written by Kallie George
Illustrated by Yumi Sakamoto

My dreams are paper cranes
Nine hundred and ninety nine
Made from patterned paper
Attached to silken line
My dreams are paper cranes
All waiting set to fly
Wating for that thousandth crane
So they can shoot up high
My dreams are paper cranes
Till one of golden sheen
Was folded in my thoughts
The crane of self-esteem
My dreams are real life cranes
Not flightless anymore
A thousand feathered dreams
Towards the sky they soar.
