SLOW FUSE—an invitation

This call is an invitation for scholars, artists and educators to venture into the spaces of arts–based inquiry, aesthetic expression and meaningful learning. How do we conceptualize, explore and perform our struggles, our challenges and our questions with ethical engagement? What feelings, opportunities, limitations do the words/actions of arts–based inquiry, performance and (re)presentation evoke? How might we, as educators and researchers, artists and children, light the slow fuse of our coming to understand, conceptualize and engage with the complexities of our lives?

Stasis. Movement. Chaos. Fear. Beauty.

“It's about all this stuff locked inside a person. How does it get out?”

“Do we want to limit this to children?”

“That's where it starts...”

“But not where it ends...”
